Thirty-six Wonderful Years!

My hubby, Steve, and I just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary on July 28. I should write a book. I keep saying that, but haven't done it -maybe someday. As I think back over the years, it seems such a long time ago in some ways, and yet, it doesn't seem long enough. There are still so many things I'd like for us to experience and share together. Each and every day is a memory maker and I have lots of wonderful memories.

My hubby is a wonderful man. He has always cared and shared with me, watched over me, protected and provided for me. Living with a minister and being a partaker of his dreams and plans have added so many wonderful memories and pleasures to our time together. Some minister's wives have a struggle with jealousy over the time their minister husbands spend with others, but I have never been jealous. Frustrated at times, yes, but never jealous. The congregations we have served may never know the complete dedication, care, and love that Steve has had and given to each of them. But, I live with him and know the countless hours he spends in prayer for them, the sleepless nights, the sincere care and concern he has when they are experiencing illness, family problems, relationship challenges... I have seen his disappointment and wept with him when he was misunderstood and misrepresented. And I have rejoiced with him when someone that he has spent hours trying to encourage, or trying to lead to Christ finally give their hearts to the Lord. These times make it all worth while.

I count myself truly blessed to have lived with a man who has been consistent in his example of Christianity, constant in his relationship with the Lord, and considerate to others to a fault. Thank you, my wonderful mate for all the special moments we have spent together. You are my dearheart, my forever friend.

  1. Yes, I was thinking the other day about all the lives you guys have touched. The Farleys, The Ealeys, all the students Dad has taught.

Pretty amazing stuff! You guys should be proud of yourselves. You've been used for the kingdom!
